am: We'd had FIFTY cm of fresh powder over the past 36 hours. In the morning I went out with Steve but got very frustrated at the slow pace, as he's a beginner but doing very well. But come the afternoon...

pm: Steve did the very kind thing and told me to go off while he cleaned up the flat. There was hardly anyone about as it was Saturday, so all the suckers who flew or drove were on the road or waiting at an airport. No-one had come for the weekend as the forecast was pants. So it was just a few people who were taking night sleeper trains, and the locals. And about two foot deep powder...

OH MY GOD!!!!

I had the most amazing afternoon... Started off with a couple of french guys on a red run that had about 1 metre deep snow drifts on it... ended up head-first in the snow with legs waggling skywards. Killed ourselves laughing. All afternoon I was floating on powder, 'whooshing' around the turns, braving a few hops, no queues for lifts, runs to myself, and just had the BEST DAYS SNOWBOARDING EVER! Finished the week on a real high. :-)
